1991 - The Year Punk Broke

The Year Punk Broke is a film that covers the European tour of Sonic Youth and Nirvana. The movie was shot almost entirely by band members and features many candid moments as well as performances. The movie is significant because, only in retrospect, it documented the moment when grunge music "broke out" of obscurity and came in to the mainstream of pop culture.
