Archimonde is a demon lord warlock originated from the Twisting Nether in the fantasy Warcraft Universe.

Chosen as the second champion after Kil'jaeden by Sargeras, Archimonde the Defiler was the leader in the Burning Legion's First Invasion. He gathered a group of Pit Lords with Mannoroth being their hellish leader and created his own elite force of destruction.

The second time around, Archimonde himself was leading the Undead in another attempt to conquer the world of Azeroth and corrupt the World Tree for its magical powers. However due to the combined might of the Orcish Horde, the Human Alliance and the Night Elves, the Second Invasion of the Burning Legion ended in utter failure and Archimonde himself was obliterated.

Archimonde's superior, the powerful demon king Kil'jaeden, is still roaming out there and has found him a new servant in Illidan Stormrage.

The saga will continue and the current conflict shall be revealed in the World of Warcraft.
