| Block Mania is a Judge Dredd story that appeared in the
British comic 2000 AD. It starts off with
what seems to be a typical Block War, as has been the focus of previous Dredd stories. However, it soon becomes apparent that it
isn't an isolated incident, but that conflagurations are breaking out amongst hundreds of City Blocks in Mega-City One. Eventually the conflict
has spread city-wide, where hundreds of millions of citizens are involved in fighting. The last episode of the series, far from
resolving any disputes, leads into another story - Apocalypse War.
In 1987 Games Workshop produced a board game based on the above story, and other stories that had featured Block Wars. The game simulated a Block
War between two City Blocks, with each player trying to do unto the other player's Block before it was done unto them.
A supplement, Mega Mania was released, which increased the amount of Blocks (and thus players) to four.
