| CBS Television Quiz was the first television game show ever to be broadcast regularly. It premiered on July 2, 1941. Two other game shows before this were sort of like "test
episodes" for experimental purposes. One of these was Truth or Consequences (c. 1940).
CBS Television Quiz, produced by CBS Television and broadcast in black and white, was hosted by Gil Fates, with the assistance of Frances Buss.
