| Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (also sometimes simply referred to as "Deloitte") is one of the Big Four auditors and the second largest professional services firm in the world, after PricewaterhouseCoopers. Previously known as Deloitte &
Touche, it was formed by merger of Touche Ross and Deloitte Haskins & Sells in August 1989. Its global
headquarters are located in Manhattan, New York City.
Its offices in the World Trade Center were destroyed in the
9/11 attacks of 11 September
2001.
The names in the company title refer to William Welch Deloitte, George Touche, and Admiral Nobuzo Tohmatsu.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu is a Swiss Verein (association). This means that DTT or its members are not liable for each other's
acts or ommissions.
On the night from February 12 to 13, 2005, the Madrid offices were destroyed in the burning of Windsor Tower.
