| The good life is a life of good emotions and satisfaction. It includes things such as a good
occupation (in terms of pleasure, cause, and salary), good hobbies, good family and
friends, and general comfort. Many people
lead the good life, but obstacles such as family and friends, persecution, physical disability, and lack of wealth may keep an
individual from leading the good life. For example, individuals living in Third
World countries are less likely to be living a good life. Some individuals accept that some things are too often taken for
granted and try to count their blessings. They also believe in seeking the bright side of things instead of suffer from the dark
side.
Different views of a good life
All around the world people have different views of a good life, and in spite of that, they have different lifestyles. Some
people seek pleasure and aesthetics, while others live to fight for a cause and
often sacrifice much of their comfort. Abolitionists, for instance, live to
fight for what they believe in instead of aesthetics. Some people live for both. Some invidividuals also believe that money and
intellect is the key to a good life, and work towards self-actualization, while others are satisfied with a modest life. Certain individuals are religious and
live for their deity, while others live plainly for happiness.
