Omaha Steaks

Omaha Steaks is a family business founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 1917 that manufactures, markets, packages, and distributes various custom cuts of steaks, red meats and other food products.

The company uses a variety of marketing techniques, including mail order, telesales, telemarketing, retail sales, web based sales and distributors to restaurants and supermarkets to sell their product.

It was founded by father and son J.J. and B.A. Simon who emigrated from Riga Latvia in 1898 to the United States, and moved to Omaha. After working at several stores, they founded the Table Supply Meat Company, taking the name from the previous occupants of the building, the Table Supply Company. It has used the name Omaha Steaks in marketing since about 1970.
